Objective

This policy was created in order for the company to have a clear and fair method of recording attendance.

Marking System

Attendance is marked at weekly meetings and/or when there is an official event. The squad leader or assistant or whoever assigned will use the Squad Roll Book to record the attendance. The person shall mark as follows:

  • Marks ‘0’, ‘1’, ‘A’ or ‘S’ at the start of event/meeting
  • Marks ‘0’, ‘1’, ‘A’ or ‘S’ at the end of event/meeting
  • Compiles the day’s attendance by adding the ‘start’ & ‘end’
  • See sample below for the various possible scenarios

Definitions of Excuse
There will only be two types of ‘excuse’:


Special
Excuse

with this the boy is considered as a Full Attendance and hence will get a full 2 points. The following are considered as Special Excuse

  • Attending another BB function with the approval of the company
  • Death of an immediate family member which includes grandparents
  • A school day or compulsory school event
  • Wedding of immediate family members
  • On study leave approved by company with a letter from parents
    • PMR – 2 months before public exam
    • SPM / STPM – 3 months before public exam
  • Any other reasons which is approved by the captain


Acceptable
Excuse

with such acceptable excuse, a boy will be given a Half Attendance and hence will get either 1 or 1.5 points. The following are defined as Acceptable Excuse

  • Death of a relative
  • Wedding of a relative
  • Family trip or holiday
  • Medical reasons
  • Any other reasons which is approved by the captain

All Special or Acceptable excuses must come with either a letter or LEAVE APPLICATION FORM. The form or letter must be signed by parents/guardian or school teacher. All LEAVE APPLICATION FORM should be given to the Squad Leader prior to the date or immediately after the date.
