Band Performs at LMCP New Year’s Dinner

January 1, 2011, Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Resort- Thanks to a couple that contributed a sum of money for 3rd KL’s fund raising dinner January last year, the 3rd Kuala Lumpur Company brass band gets the privilege to perform at Life’s Methodist Church Puchong’s New Year’s Dinner. This dinner is to raise funds for the new church building. Also, we were given 4 tables to have our dinner there!

Most of us arrived at 2.00p.m for rehearsals. It was on till 5.15p.m and we had rest time for us to eat and change into our uniforms. At 6.30p.m, guests for the dinner started arriving and to stir up the heat, a small jazz band played just right outside of the function room. Finally it was the opening act by us and together with a few church members. The brass band marched to the front of the hall while playing Oh When The Saints Go Marching In with church members dancing while holding big letters making up, JESUS IS THE ROCK. At the front, MC of the night, Mr. Lawrence Tay led everyone in a time of joyful singing. We sung Jesus is The Rock and a song learned from Indonesia, Hari Ini.

After the performance, it is time for dinner. With almost 10 delicacies, great entertainment at the stage, and great friends, all of us had a great time of fellowship. Games were going on and on and everyone pretty much enjoyed their time here.

Our bus arrived earlier so everyone pack their belongings and instruments onto the bus and left for YMCA.
