Special programme for Easter weekend

Special programme for Easter weekend “Ring- Ring” My phone rang and I answered. It was Primer Sim requesting me to be the camera man for this Saturday. I felt a bit odd, why? What’s so special about this Saturday? So, I asked Primer Sim. After explaining to me, then I understood why a camera man is required. I said ‘yes’ to him.
Today, is our school’s sports day and our BB band played a few songs as we lead the contingents in. After the morning band function, we had to rush back to YMCA for band practice and usual Saturday parade. It is going to be a very tiring day and Mr Ng, our band officer, was very understanding. The first thing after falling in for band practice, Mr Ng asked all of us to relax and before breaking up into sectional practice, Mr Ng treated us all to a can of 100plus. While relaxing, we were briefed and told about next Sunday’s band performance for McDonalds, exciting!

After band practice, it was time to get ready for parade. Thankfully, we were allowed to wear half uniform today since we had a band function in the morning. Today’s programme is about Easter and it was a rainy day. This time, the primers are in-charged of the programme. NCO on duty is Cpl Tay Wai Leong. After opening parade, we had worship then it was indoor games time. First game, led by LCpl is ‘Blow Wind Blow’. Next, the primers led us in a game called ‘Passing the Real Message’. From this game, we learnt about ‘teamwork’, we also learnt about ‘trusting’ our friends and telling the ‘truth’.

It’s now time for outdoor activities, though it was still drizzling, we carried on. Primer Chye did the briefing and we were to change into our PT Kit. After 5 minutes, we were back on the basketball court and the game we played the water balloon game. It was just not the water balloon, we had to play the ‘scissors, paper and stone’ game to see which team wins. The winner gets to throw water balloons to the losers. And yes, the losers scrambled off immediately but was somehow could not escape getting wet. At the end, all of us got wet but we enjoyed the game, it’s fun!
